Jesus comforted his disciples with these words, and they comfort us today. This scripture is particularly important to us as we cannot meet the needs or demands of all of the people who come to us asking for help. Over the past seven months we have paid for food, school fees, rent, bicycles, false teeth, medical bills, travel, and the final payment on a loan. We have been handing over fish instead of teaching people how to fish. We never anticipated that money matters would be such a constant tug on our ministry here. But, the Lord seems to be leading us to teach, pray, and study scriptures with people on work, money, and money management. As we embark on this new goal, we are thrilled to announce that the Jud Boies course on “Business Goals,” will premiere in Uganda on Revival Radio beginning in December. Revival Radio broadcasts to western Uganda and beyond. We will be promoting the “Business Goals” course to clergy and parishioners, and we will do what we can to make the course accessible to as many people as possible. We are really excited about this opportunity.
On July 23, 18 teenage students and adult leaders traveled from Bishop to Tijuana for a week-long service project. St. Tim’s gang teamed up with Amor Ministries in Mexico and All Saints Church in Bakersfield. Their mission was to build two small houses for families in need in Tijuana and enjoy a vacation with sports, stories, crafts and Bible school. The team completed its fundraising efforts over the past several months and raised more than $20,000 which covered all the expenses of the trip, including the building costs for the homes. Father Cam rallied the St. Tim’s Mexico Mission youth.
