Full time rector - christ church, reno

Ministry Description

Christ Anglican Church Reno, a young “mission-turned-parish” currently worships in a rented space agreement with Temple Sinai, located in northern Reno at 3405 Gulling Road, Reno, NV 89503. Worship is taken from the Anglican Prayer Book 2019. We are part of the ACNA (Anglican Church in North America) and the Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin (The Very Reverend Dr Eric V. Menees, Bishop)
Statistically a small parish we welcome qualified applicants for the position of rector, who would be responsible for celebrating the Holy Eucharist weekly (with additional services added during Advent and Easter); as well, he would be responsible for leading, encouraging, and developing current ministries as well as establishing additional ministries suited for this (older) parish.

Obviously, growth in numbers through The Great Commission is a primary need at this point. A major challenge to this is the area geography of a single Anglican parish which currently has members traveling to church from Reno (within 10 miles), Sparks to the east, (within 15 miles) Incline Village to the west (35 miles), and Minden / Gardnerville to the south of Carson City (60 miles) as well as the climate which typically has snow issues during the heart of winter.

The Rector is key in implementing the parish mission. We seek an individual with the following traits: has a deep, abiding, and sustaining faith in Jesus Christ our Lord; is ordained or is prepared for ordination and willing to work full-time; has a sound, biblical, engaging, practical and applicable preaching style and a passion for making Christ known; embraces the diversity of ages, backgrounds, and languages in our congregation; has the ability to minister to the Spanish-speaking community; sees the potential in our congregation and is willing to help us grow; is willing to maintain amicable relations with other churches and Temple Sinai and get involved with the community; is willing to share the pulpit and cultivate the various talents in the church; is a visionary and a problem solver; will conduct home and hospital visits; has a positive personality, servant’s attitude, and the ability to maintain confidentiality; as well as  have a willingness to make a multi-year commitment to Christ Anglican Church Reno.

If you are interested in the open position of full-time Rector at Christ Anglican Church Reno, please contact the Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin at (559) 721-2027.
